Security vs. Happiness

In a long term relationship what is more important to you, happiness or security? Does the fear of being alone or a future relationship failing make you want to stay in your current relationship because there is stability? I get it, the world can be overwhelming for a single gal, but how long are you willing to let your happiness decrease in order to have some security in your love life? Life is too short to be anything but happy.
